These gold cockle shell hanging decorations have each been carefully hand painted in liquid gold leaf and adorned with cheerful Spring blooms from William Morris’ Celandine design to create gorgeous natural Easter decorations.

These are also perfect for adding a touch of the coast to your home decor and living space throughout the year.

Each of these large spiny cockle shells measures approximately 5-6cm and has been beautifully repurposed to create these naturally unique decorations.

Made to order, buy individually or as a set of 4 or 6 - these cockle shell decorations will bring a little Spring sunshine to your home with their delightful floral patterns including Celandine, Bluebells and Lily of the Valley set on either a Blue Patterned or Green Patterned background.

Our cockle shell decorations will come safely gift-wrapped in either our signature hessian gift bags or in a Brandyoak Cottage window gift box, depending on quantity ordered. About our pieces:
A true inspiration, William Morris has brought the beauty, and a celebration, of the natural world indoors, with his majestic and enduring designs that have been so influential since the 1800s.

It is with a shared love of nature that I have created these beautiful shell decorations from natural sea shells, combining nature and art once more.

William Morris is well known for having said:

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”

And with our handcrafted pieces, I hope these go some way in living up to this doctrine.

Directions for care:
Seashells are naturally delicate so please handle your Shell Decoration with care. Our decorative shells are not designed to be submerged in water. To clean, wipe with a soft damp cloth.

A note on creation:
Each shell hanging decoration is individually hand crafted and is a one of a kind creation, not manufactured in a factory. As a result, each shell ornament will have subtle variations from one item to the next, which is caused by natural variations in the shape and size of the sea shells used, as well as a result of the hand crafting method.

Given the unique nature of the items being sold, the description, photos and measurements listed have been used to portray, in general, the items for sale. However, if more specific information is required on individual pieces for sale or you have any questions, please do get in touch.

All shells used in our listed items are natural and have been sourced locally from within the UK, many from within the Home Counties. Our scallop shells are sourced from around the UK, whilst our spiny cockle shells have been collected from Kent beaches and our Oyster shells largely from Essex and Suffolk.

A Note on Dispatch & Delivery:
Once your item has been dispatched I pass over the delivery of your items to the lovely people at Royal Mail. (Thank you!)

UK:
Standard delivery is sent via Second Class post, which Royal Mail advise generally takes 2-3 working days after dispatch to arrive.

For quicker delivery, you can select First Class as an option, which Royal Mail state they aim to deliver the next day after posting.

Overseas:
Packages are sent via Royal Mail International Standard (Airmail), with the postal system advising items take the following number of working days after dispatch to arrive:

-Europe 3-5 working days
-USA 6-7 working days

However, please allow a few more days for items to arrive given international delays due to the current pandemic.

Waiting for delivery:
Occasionally there are delays in the postal system that are unfortunately beyond my control, such as when there is bad weather, busy periods or other events that impact Royal Mail’s expected transit times and that of their overseas counterparts (Christmas, Covid..).

If you have any concerns over when you might receive something by, please do drop me a message before buying and I’ll do my best to help if I can. It may be that I’m able to send out an item that same day or I can find out how much it might be to send via Special Delivery or a Courier to you. If I’m able to, I’ll try to help in anyway that I can
